I am addicted to attending this event. The books selected by the committee are always awesome and each time I have been there the speech maker/authors are as good in person as on the page, This year was especially noteworthy for wonderful presentations from the authors.

Michael Printz cared enough to listen to a young husband describe the dream job his wife wanted. Micheal advised him to send me to library school!!! I entered that fall to became one of the fortunate hundreds of Kansas librarians who was in a class taught by Michael. He gave the best "book talks" I have ever witnessed and he was a great advisor and mentor. I will always be grateful for the shove from Michael Prinz via the other guy - my husband of 44 years. Marilyn Hinshaw, ALA Councillor at Large.

Audio recordings of the speeches will be available for free download in the near future. Word on the availability will go out via YALSA blog, web site, lists, Twitter, etc. The audio will be high-quality as it was professionally recorded during the ceremony.
