Teen Avatar Design Contest for Jack Gantos and Meg Cabot

Today, teens had the opportunity to enter their avatar designs for Jack Gantos and Meg Cabot for a contest in Teen Second Life so that they can wear them when they come to TSL to interact with the teens. The enthusiasm and creativity were wonderful. We talked about what Jack and Meg write and some of the teens shared that they identified with some of the characters.

A partnership with TeachingBooks.net, Chicago Public Schools Dept. of Libraries and Information Services, and the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County will be bringing these two authors as well as Jacqueline Woodson to Eye4You Alliance Island in Teen Second Life this summer. Check out the LibraryLoft site for more details. Jack Gantos and Meg Cabot may use voice, which means when we live stream the presentation on Ustream, you can listen and participate through chat as well.
