Committee Volunteer Forms Due! Committee volunteer forms are due to the YALSA Office next week, as President-Elect Linda Braun is appointing the 2009-2010 selection list and award committees! Fill out your Committee Volunteer Form today. Make sure you have the completed form filled out by Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Coming to ALA Conventions In 2009? Get Bundled Reg! Bundled registration for 2009 Midwinter Meeting and 2009 Annual Conference is now available! Bundled registration for YALSA members costs $300—a savings of up to 20% over advance registration for each event separately. See what YALSA has planned for Midwinter at the YALSA Wiki. But do it now — bundled registration ends on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Fall Online Courses Registration ends next week! We’re offering three this session: Making the Match, New Technologies and New Literacies for Teens and Pain in the Brain. Classes begin Oct. 6, and you can read descriptions and register on the YALSA Online Courses page. Interested? Register by Friday, Oct. 3!
Advanced Registration for YA Lit Symposium! There’s still time to come join us in Nashville for the first-ever Young Adult Literature Symposium. But you’ve got to register by next Friday (Oct. 3) to save 10 percent over onsite registration fees. Unfortunately, the preconference and genre luncheon are sold out and waiting lists for both are closed.
Hit the Road with YALSA! As part of Sarah Debraski’s presidential theme, Engaging the YALSA Community, YALSA plans to have a presence at a library conference in all 50 states in 2009! Interested in representing YALSA in your state? Apply and learn more about the YALSA Road Trip at the YALSA Wiki. Applictions due Sept. 30
Hey, Mr. President! Have a burning question for Jim Rettig, ALA president? YALSA Past President Pam Spencer Holley is interviewing Jim for a YALSA podcast, and she’d like questions from members like you! Send your questions for Jim to Linda Braun for possible inclusion. Deadline for submission is Oct. 1.
