Who wouldn’t want to walk away with $50, 000?

I loved Robin’s lighthearted dialogue, as well as the motives for such a hack: Max, whose entire familiy up to and including his three older sisters have gone to Harvard, is fed up with all the scarlet in his life and just wants to be a computer programmer for a budding company; Eric, bullied by their resident punk in grade school, gets to know said punk pretty well; and poor 16-year-old-already-a-freshman-at-Harvard Schwarz who doesn’t think but just does whatever Max can eventually con him into doing in exchange from rescuing him from the girl upstairs’ clutches–his glossy Playboy (it’s really not what you think. Seriously.) pages, no problem, but please! PLEASE! PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE not those, erm, décolletage brassieres!

MUCH LOVE FROM MWA. Read this book. It will do wonders for your soul–all that laughing will melt away the stress of applying to colleges! Seriously! *goes to laugh her head off and finish that Common Application…*

Hacking Harvard: 10/10 YEAH BABY!

(Oh…and I give up on the signature cover pictures, since WordPress likes errors when I try to insert. So…yeah. In case anyone was actually looking forward to the pretty pictures…sorry.)

Her cool head, however, is slowly developing something more for one of the richest kids in Manhattan, New York — Jack Force.

And whaddya know – he tries to throw himself under a cab right before the first time Schuyler talks to him. …..Ooooohhhhkay…..turns out he’s an invincible vampire. And so is Schuyler. And her new best friend, Bliss from Texas.

It turns out that Schuyler’s blood is kinda out to get her — she’s a vampire. Well, only half, but that makes no difference to the something that’s stalking and killing off vampires, ‘cuz, you know, the Committee’s really been lying to them about their complete immortality…

Blue Bloods is a different take on vampires, and it’s very artistic in the way that it’s put together. de la Cruz has a way of stringing along the scenes that require your full attention (all through the night! But it was worth it. :3)

and

Masquerade

Masquerade continues where Blue Bloods left off and Schuyler is hunting for her “grandfather” in Italy. She finds him and pleads for him to come back to get rid of the Sliver Bloods, but he won’t.

Then he does. And starts teaching her how to use her vampire blood. The downfall of all this blood exercise? Her human blood cells fight back and leaves her seriously weakened. Her grandfather believes that the only way for her to survive is to perform the Kiss to create a human familiar that she can feed off of.

Oliver tries to help her, but then again he’s only a human Conduit.

There’s a third one coming out in this series, Retribution, I think. I’m getting kind of antsy… :3

How? She’s turned into a fly on the boy’s locker room, of course. :3

And who uses the guys’ locker room? Why her crush, OF COURSE. And those other guys. The jocks/stoners. And some more guys. Like the gay ones. Well. She gets more than she bargained for, but it all comes together.

This wacky book is an interesting take on how girls wish they could understand why guys do those strange things that they just do, and this book definitely accomplishes with some flair. It also unearths some typical teenage angst by the looming divorce of her parents as well as her best friend’s happiness being put on hold.

This has a slightly different tone than the boyfriend list and the boy book, and it’s a welcome change because of its quick read (I read it in about three hours, but it just sucks you in! You can’t stop! Well…you can but it hurts.)

fly on the wall: 7/10

I’ve also heard about The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau Banks…soo I’ll be sure to go and find it (someday after AP tests. =/ Wah.)

Right, done with the justification for random BLAH that suddenly is going to pop up on the blog.
the boyfriend list by e. lockhart (LOLZ.), and the sequel

the boy book

These two (and possibly more) books document Ruby “Roo” Oliver’s unfortunate interactions and escapades with boys/guys/boyfriends/possible boyfriends/guys she’d love to have as boyfriends, and one “rebound” boyfriend (you know, the guy-you-go-out-with-for-one-date-because-your-boyfriend-just-broke-up-with-you dude.)

However….her lovely and hot make-out Jackson of three months just broke up with her, and Roo suddenly develops panic attacks. Her parents force her to see Doctor Z, a good if possibly batty psychiatrist, who tells Roo to write down every boy she’s ever had feelings for. This list is suddenly Xeroxed and circulated around the school by her former-best friend, who, co-incidentally because-it-was-fate STOLE Jackson. Um, right. DRAMA ENSUES.

It’s a very unusual book, and for those of you familiar with an abundance of katherines by john green (YES! ONLY THE BESTEST BOOK EVAR!!!), it’s got the hilarious footnotes. :3 That being said, it’s an interesting insight of a teenage girl afflicted with those silly things called “crushes”, and I don’t know about you guys out there, but *I* liked it.

the boy book continues Ruby’s life through junior year as well as deeper relationships she develops with some guys. It’s very sweet, but the boyfriend list is definitely for those who like laughs.

And because I wrote this post I can so rate the books I read:
the boyfriend list 8/10
the boy book 7/10
