I just called my rep. and have two things to report. First, it was quick and easy. I told the aide that I was calling to tell my Congresswoman to oppose HR 5319. He told me he needed to get a constituent form – which took three seconds – and then he asked me to say again what bill I was calling about and took down my information – name, address, etc. The whole thing took at most 60 seconds. They aren’t looking for why you oppose (or support) something. They just want to know that you do or don’t support something.

Second, the aide I talked to wasn’t familiar with the bill which says to me that they haven’t been getting many calls. That also says to me that we need to get out there and let our reps. know what we think.

So, remember – it’s quick, it’s painless, and it is important to do.
