In March of this year 181 libraries were selected to participate in the Great Stories CLUB, an initiative funded by Oprah’s Angel Network aimed at getting books into the hands of troubled teens. The initiative, implemented by ALA’s Public Program’s Office and YALSA, helped establish book discussion groups for teens in alternative schools and juvenile detention centers.
