The new issue of First Monday is all about social networking. In the December issue you’ll find articles on identity in the networked world, what friendship means within social networking communities, and whether or not information gleaned from social network sites can be used as evidence in court cases.

A PowerPoint presentation and podcast on social networking is now available on the ALA Office of Intellectual Freedom social networking page. The podcast and PowerPoint discuss what social networking is, how social networking resources are used inside and outside of libraries, and what DOPA is and what its impact on libraries will be.

Each of these resources is useful to keep up with what’s going on in social networking and when thinking about and discussing with others the impact of the technology (and possible legal decisions) on teens and libraries.
