Ypulse is offering a special rate for library attendees for their Books pre-conference at this year’s Mashup event in San Francisco. “The 2008 Ypulse National Mashup is the only conference that brings together youth media and marketing professionals from brands, agencies and the non-profit sector to share best practices for reaching today’s totally wired youth.”

The full agenda for the pre-conference is here with keynote speaker David Levithan. The conference is in San Fransisco from July 14-15. Plenty of time to unpack from ALA, wash clothes, and repack!

Instructions on how to attend the pre-conference for the $100 librarian rate follows: when you register, you will be asked for “attendee type”. If you select pre-conference only, enter all of the details like a standard registrant and when asked for a code, enter the code BookDeal. If you want to attend the entire Mashup there is a 10 percent discount available – just enter the code YALSA.

I attended the conference last year and it’s a great way to meet teen entrepreneurs as well as those marketing to youth, in many of the same ways that we are as librarians.
