Teen Read Week Registration Registration for Teen Read Week is humming along; make sure to sign up before registration ends on Sept. 12! Take a look at all the cool stuff that registration offers you at the TRW website. After you’ve registered, visit the Teen Read Week wiki and share your own plans and ideas with other YA librarians.

Your Opinion Needed! We’re looking for feedback on two different surveys. First, if you came to ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim, take a few minutes and fill out our Annual Conference Survey. Your feedback will help us plan a great 2009 conference in Chicago!

We’re also asking all members to participate in our Membership Survey. President Sarah Debraski’s theme is Engaging the YALSA Community, so we’re taking this opportunity to do just that. We need to make sure that YALSA is helping you achieve your goals and offering the resources and services you need. The survey is only about 10-15 minutes long, so please visit the Membership Survey and give us your feedback.

Both surveys close on August 29.

Bundled Registration Returns ALA will again offer bundled registration for those planning to attend both the 2009 Midwinter Meeting in Denver and the 2009 Annual Conference in Chicago. As a YALSA member, bundled registration would cost you $300 for both conferences. You’ll save 20% over advanced registration rates you’d pay if you registered separately for each event. Bundled registration is open Sept. 1 to Sept. 30; registration for Midwinter alone opens Oct. 1. For complete details, visit the ALA Midwinter Meeting registration page.

Get Involved! We’ve been talking a lot about committees (thanks, Linda) and committee volunteer forms for fall appointments (selection committees) need to be filled out by Sept. 30. But there are other ways to participate in YALSA as well. Take a look at our Get Involved wiki page and learn more.

That’s it for this week’s update! To stay up to date on the latest from the YALSA Office, sign up to follow YALSA on Twitter or become a fan of YALSA on Facebook!
