The Brooklyn Musuem is offering a ‘socially networked museum membership‘ called 1stfans. Their membership gives them access to exclusive events, communication by their preferred electronic means among several choices and exclusive access to the Twitter Art Feed (which will engage contemporary artists).

One of the goals of this project is to use social networks to bring people together and into the museum.’  An interesting model for libraries and those who become a member.’  What ‘exclusive’ information do you think teens might want access to through being connected by the library’s social networking sites or how to use the sites to bring people with like interests together?

Sure, most of us’  post flyers about upcoming events on our library’s MySpace pages, but maybe some intrigue could be built into the event by those that are members of our twitter feed to engage with authors, musicians, or even summer job employers.’  Feel free to share your ideas!
