One of the first opportunities YALSA members have to meet the candidates on YALSA’s 2009 election slate, is at the first-ever YALSA Candidate’s Forum being held during the Midwinter Meeting in Denver.

How? By posting questions to the YALSA wiki page all about the upcoming election. There is a section of the page that is dedicated to the questions members would like to see asked of the candidates at the Forum. It’s your chance to discover what you think fellow members should know about those running for YALSA office.

If you can’t attend the Forum posting your question is a perfect way to make sure your voice is heard. And, if you can’t attend, don’t worry because the Forum will be recorded and posted right here on the YALSA blog.

The Forum is scheduled for Sunday, January 25, at 10:30 AM at the Colorado Convention Center in Korbel Ballroom 3B.

The Candidate’s Forum is just one of several different opportunities YALSA Is organizing to give Division members opportunities to learn about those running for various elected YALSA positions. Other election information coming up over the next couple of months includes audio and video interviews with candidates as well as a series of blog postings in which candidates will discuss various topics.

Member participation in YALSA elections is a key ingredient for making sure that YALSA serves it’s members successfully and effectively. You can help guarantee YALSA serves you by posting a question for the Candidate’s Forum and by listening, viewing, and reading election information that is posted here and on the wiki. With all the information YALSA is making available in hand, you’ll be able to make good decisions about YALSA governance and the future of the Division.
