Children’s and Young Adult Author, Cynthia Leitich Smith will stop by Teen Second Life on Tuesday, February 24 at 1pm PST to discuss her newly released book, Eternal. Leitich describes Eternal as a gothic fantasy. She has decided to get involved in Second Life since it’s a ‘very contemporary and very ‘now’ space’ as are her books. Check out her YALSA podcast here. All teens, ages 13-17 are invited to sign up for a free account and teleport to Eye4You Alliance Island. If you’re not able to catch her live, a transcript of the event will be saved.
Another online opportunity (Teen Second Life on Sparta Island, Second Life for adults at the Bookhendge, radio via iTunes, or the web) related to teens and books will take place this Monday from 5p-6:30p EST. Teens from the Eva Perry Public Library Mock Printz Club and a YA Lit class from NC State University will come together to talk about what they think are the latest and greatest YA reads.
