Cory Doctorow has just released his second Y/A novel.’ It’s entitled For the Win and, like his first, Little Brother, is available in downloadable format as well as hard copy format in both the U.S. and the U.K.’ If you have gamers frequenting your Y/A collection, this may be the novel for them.’ But rather than me telling your teens what they’ll like, why not let them tell you?’ For a taste of the types of ideas you’ll find inside this novel, visit his short story, “Anda’s Game”.’ And if you need more information, go to the Boing Boing site.’ Free Educator and Librarian copies are available by emailing freeftwbook@gmail.com.
I booktalked LITTLE BROTHER and had a great time. Teens really like Doctorow – he says what they’re thinking. I’m really excited about his new book, and I love that it’s available online for free, for those who can’t afford it.
Educator and librarian copies aren’t automatic-donators visit the site and choose who to purchase books for at their discretion.
Hmm. Thanks for letting us know Kelly. I apologize if I’ve mis-led everyone. That is not how it was presented by Boing Boing. A lesson learnt for me – in future I will always double check my information before passing it along. Well, I hope everyone enjoys the on-line version (which I have seen) and I hope the hard copy is available soon outside of the U.S. and the U.K.
No problem. The contact was very kind and that’s how she explained the copies for educators and librarians. Thank you again for pointing out this great resource-very helpful.
