Get ready to visit a city where you can experience music, culinary delights, arts and culture. To give you a taste, right now the city of New Orleans is in the thick of Jazz Fest The Jazz Festival began in 1970 with local artists and three stages. It has grown to 12 stages with every kind of music imaginable and is now spread out over 7 days and 2 weekends. The food at Jazz Fest is legendary, from Crawfish Monica which is a crawfish-pasta dish to Crawfish Bread, a pistolet stuffed with seasoned crawfish.

This month we also have: the 6th annual Bayou Boogaloo Festival which is a free music festival, the 20th annual New Orleans Wine and Food Experience for those fine dining connoisseurs and the 37th annual Greek Festival. With over 37 city festivals each year, the entertainment never ends.

Even if you don’t attend a New Orleans festival you can look up their websites and get an idea of the kind of experiences you could enjoy this June at ALA in regards to arts, music, food and culture. Be sure to check out the YALSA conference wiki for more information
