The goal of the LIS Road Trip is to contact LIS students throughout the US and inspire them to become a professional librarian who works with teens! We hope that Student Chapters will sponsor an event at their library school to help students network, learn more about YALSA and even meet local YALSA members to find out what life as a teen services librarian is really like! Students or faculty are encouraged to host events or activities to raise awareness about YALSA and to connect with one another.

YALSA has a toolkit to help students do this and it can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/YALSAguides. We have over 1,200 student members in YALSA and would love to recruit more! At $53 per year it is a bargain to join and you have access to a wealth of information and to other teen librarians. Please consider hosting a Road Trip event and joining YALSA today!

If you’re a student interested in hosting a Road Trip activity, please fill out our Road Trip registration at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YALSAtrip
