Have you had a recent success working with teens that you’re dying to share with your colleagues? YALSA just made it a whole lot easier!

Check out the Continuing Education (CE) proposal form. If you have an idea for a webinar, forum discussion or even an online course, this is where you can send it in. You might also have been in the audience for a presentation that you think would be a good fit for this form. Consider contacting the presenter to let them know of this great resource! While membership in YALSA or ALA is not required, it is preferred.

What happens to your form once it is submitted? The form is sent to Eve Gaus, YALSA’s Program Officer for Continuing Education. She then shares it with the Continuing Education Advisory Taskforce which is made up of 5-7 members that meet virtually (though if the taskforce wants to meet at YALSA’s all-committee during conference, they may choose to do so). Their function statement is: To provide feedback to YALSA’s Program Officer for Continuing Education on: 1) appropriate and timely topics for continuing education offerings and 2) identifying qualified individuals to facilitate continuing education sessions. To assist the Program Officer for CE as requested with promoting CE opportunities and recognizing the contribution of facilitators, presenters, etc. The staff liaison is Eve Gaus, Sara Ryan is the current Board liaison to the taskforce, and Mari Hardacre is the current chair.

While that’s probably far more than you might have wanted to know, hopefully it’s helpful to know what happens to your great ideas once you send them in!
